Terms of Service

1. What Untangle Does

Untangle allows you to upload an export of your own email history (e.g., a Google Takeout .mbox file) to identify services that have sent you email, and provides links to help you unsubscribe from those you no longer want. Processing of your uploaded file happens in your browser; Untangle does not receive or store your raw email content on its servers.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using Untangle, you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@untangleinbox.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Your Content and Data

• You retain all rights to the file you upload. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process the email data you provide (e.g., it is your own inbox export).
• Untangle only extracts and stores aggregated, non-content metadata about senders (service name, sending domain, email count, category, last-seen date, and unsubscribe link) as necessary to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

5. Unsubscribe Links

Untangle surfaces unsubscribe links found in your uploaded data (via standard email headers or page content) or, where none is found, a best-effort constructed link. We do not guarantee that any unsubscribe link will successfully remove you from a sender's list — that action is performed by the third-party service, not by Untangle, and is outside our control.

6. Payment and Refunds

• Untangle offers a free preview and a one-time paid upgrade (“Pro”) that unlocks full results and export functionality.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Untangle does not store your payment card details.
• All sales are final. Because the Pro upgrade is delivered instantly upon payment (unlocking digital content already generated for your account), we do not offer refunds except where required by applicable Indian consumer protection law.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to upload data you do not have the right to process
• Attempt to circumvent the free-tier limitations without payment
• Use the Service to build a competing product by scraping or reverse-engineering its output
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure

8. Service Availability

Untangle is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to provide notice of material changes where practical.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MakeLabs and Untangle shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to the failure of a third-party unsubscribe link to function as expected.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
